Baruch Kupperman PhD, MD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California Irvine. He is a pioneer in the field of intravitreal drug delivery and has published and consulted for industry widely in this field. He will advise on the clinical aspects of our projects and will conduct cell culture studies.

Donald Forthal, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. He is also the Associate Director of the NIH-NIAID-funded ($9,358,322 in total annual direct costs) Pacific Southwest Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infections, a consortium of 16 universities and research institutes in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. Dr. Forthal will collaborate with us on developing a sustained release implant for the prophylaxis of influenza.
