About Us

Auritec Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a research and development (R&D) company, specializing in innovative, extended release drug delivery systems.

Auritec was founded by Thomas J. Smith, MD. Dr. Smith was previously Medical Director and Chairman at Control Delivery Systems, Inc. (CDS), where he was the co-founder and PI on key patents.  CDS, now Psivida Inc. (NASDQ - PSDV), is a successful device company specializing in ophthalmic extended release therapies. Dr. Smith is joined on Auritec's management team by Gary Ransom, a seasoned international business executive, who focuses on strategy, marketing and business development, and Amanda Malone, PhD, who has joined Auritec as Vice President of Research and Development.

Auritec has developed several novel approaches to extended release drug delivery with implications for a number of serious or life-threatening diseases. With funding and multiple patents in place, Auritec is actively proceeding through its proof of concept phase with an eye toward licensing of its technology.
